How to use essential oils? Discover the power of aromatherapy in the comfort of your home!

Have you ever come across an essential oil? Perhaps you have heard this name before and have some associations with it, such as its beautiful scent. We assure you that this unique product is truly worthy of your attention. And that is why, in our article today, we will try to answer two questions - what is essential oil and what are its uses?

Essential oil vs fragrance oil - are they the same thing?

If, when you think of essential oils, the beautiful scent of lavender, bergamot or mint immediately comes to mind, you are well on your way to deciphering the term. Indeed, these types of products boast extraordinary aromas. This is because essential oils are called liquid, volatile and, above all, highly concentrated fragrances that are extracted from fresh or dried plants. Does this mean that an essential oil is simply a fragrance oil? No! The two products should definitely be distinguished.

It should be noted that essential oils are produced naturally - for example by distillation, extraction, extrusion or phytolysis. Fragrance oils, on the other hand, are a synthetic product. Another important difference is the properties and purpose of both products. Fragrance oil, apart from smelling beautiful, does not carry any additional benefits. It simply serves to give the room a nice scent. Essential oils are a different matter. These are not only highly fragrant, but also have a relaxing effect, can support our body during the treatment of various ailments and, above all, are used for the popular aromatherapy.

Essential oils - how to use them at home?

Aromatherapy with essential oils can easily be practised in the comfort of your home. Introducing the active substances from the oils into your body via the respiratory tract or through the skin can bring you a number of benefits. These natural products have a relaxing, calming, soothing and revitalising effect. And these are just some of their extraordinary properties. Below, we have prepared a list of aromatherapy treatments that you can perform completely on your own.

Massage

Massage is a wonderful form of relaxation that speeds up blood circulation and relaxes muscles. Adding a few drops of essential oil to your massage oil can help you achieve better results - especially if you are struggling with muscle pain or stress.

Inhalation

Aromatherapy inhalations are carried out using a special diffuser - you can purchase one in our shop, for example. The water mist enriched with drops of essential oil, which the device produces, moistens the air while spreading a beautiful aroma all around. Inhaling such a mixture is not only relaxing, but can also help in the fight against colds, sore throats or sinusitis.

Bathing

Aromatherapy treatments also include bathing. Interestingly, it is recommended regardless of the ailment and is regarded as a comprehensive form of therapy. However, a bath with essential oil should not last longer than 15 minutes. It is also not recommended to add more than 10-15 drops of oil to a bath filled with water and an emulsifier.
