TEFAWAX Y50

This is a vegetable wax produced in Sweden by AAK. The American equivalent of this wax is Golden Wax 444. The main advantage of this wax is that it is produced from NON GMO (non-GMO) soya beans. Due to the small addition of soya oil, Tefawax Y50 soya wax is less prone to the occurrence of a 'freezing'-crystallisation effect on the surface of candles or other products. However, it is still soy wax, which has a natural crystallisation effect. This is a minor defect that can easily be removed with a hot air burner.

Cracking of the wax in the candle or so-called "sinking holes" in the candle surface can be prevented by heating the glass before pouring the candle and by pouring at a low temperature and, in the case of cold rooms, wrapping the containers in aluminium foil or a dust-free cloth until the candle has set. 

The curing time for candles and scented waxes after the addition of Fragrance Oil is 14 days. Only after this time is the product ready for use. Only then do the fragrance molecules bind with the wax, resulting in beautifully scented products.

Tefawax Y50 soy wax has a beautiful creamy colour. It is used for the production of container (poured) candles, but due to its hardness we mainly recommend it for the production of scented waxes and scented tarts. It even accepts large amounts of fragrance oils perfectly.

Attention:

TEFAWAX Y50 soy wax has a low melting point which means that it may be soft or even slightly over-melted during shipments in the warmer months. This in no way affects its quality or suitability for use.
