• Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials. Make sure it does not stand near curtains, books, decorations or other objects that can easily catch fire.
• Trim the wick to approximately 0.5 cm before each lighting. If the wick is too long, it can cause excessive flames and kicking.
• Do not burn the candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool and harden before lighting again.
• Always make sure that the entire surface of the wax has melted evenly to the edges of the vessel during the first burning. This will prevent the formation of a 'tunnel' in the wax.
• Do not move the burning candle. Wait until the wax has cooled and hardened.
• Do not use water to extinguish the candle. Use a special candle extinguisher or gently blow out the flame.
• Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains in the candle. This will prevent the vessel from overheating.
• The candle vessel may be hot during burning and shortly after extinguishing. Take care.
• Avoid placing the candle in a draught. This can result in uneven combustion or excessive kicking.
